over the weekend...

Kaylee turned 18 months. She is so quick on her feet and can maneuver an ipad like it's her own. Always smiling but can fake a good cry. These 18 months has been a bliss but that is going to change soon! Potty training coming right up! This is something hubby and I have been dreading but can't wait to save money on diapers! I think it's going to be interesting and also nerve recking for K and I. Any feedbacks would be greatly appreciated!

Over the weekend we did our 2nd annual grape picking, my all time favorite fruit to pick! Muscadine grapes has this tangy, sweet juicy flavor that is so addicting! We ended up with 16 lbs of grapes and already planning our next trip back to stock up.

I am done with the hot and humid weather. Can Fall please come a bit sooner! Have you gone grape picking? I highly recommend it! :) Have a great day!

  1. Your daughter is just too cute for words!!!! :) And grape picking sounds fun! I have never done that before.. I don't know if that's available here in WA. I've only gone cherry picking and blueberries. :)

  5. Isn't it amazing to watch our babies turn into toddlers?!!! I can't get over her cute little pigtails.

I love those grapes! We use to pick them when we were living in N.C. growing up. I haven't seen them around here in VA.

I'm ready for Fall and apple picking! Have a great weekend.

  6. I can't believe you are thinking about potty training already! Our son is 2 and we've been on and off about starting. We finally decided that we are ready but we want J to be ready. And by "ready" we mean he talks about using the potty and is really curious about what we're doing in there. I'm looking forward to saving $$ on diapers too, but not looking forward to accidents and middle-of-the-night changing of clothes and sheets ;). Good luck! Please write about it b/c I'd love to know! And why does Kaylee look like she grew up into a little GIRL in just one month!! So cute! Love the photo of her walking along the path! Great blurred background. And those were HUGE grapes!

  16. What a doll! Kaylee is like a small package full with happy energy and cuteness. The girl is getting cuter as she grows. You look cute in your grape picking outfit mama.

As for the potty training, try to get her to be excited about the concept of potty. Encourage her by saying big girls use potty and visual aids like video and book made for young ones help tremendously (in my case). Pick a weekend and plan to stay at home (going out will interrupt the training). You can take turn with your hub if one parent has to run errand so one parent stays with a child. We found that training pants were not ideal cuz when she tee tee, there was no way we knew so we let her wear panties only. There were messes to be cleaned but it was an effective route for us.

  18. I'm yet to start potty training but a friend who has 2 kids said what they did was committed to it by staying home to learn. So they decided on a date to start and each took days off work to be there with child as their learning. About 4 days into it they knew but of course there are nights they forget. I think I might try that when we cross that path

Love reading your blog I'm a new follower on GFC ... Maybe we can follow each other?
