Food for my hubby's soul } Pad Thai

Image
Made pad thai for dinner last night. It was so delish and I'm not just saying that because it was my very first time ever making it but it's because hubby had 2 full plates. Before I left for work this morning, he said that by the time I come home, the pad thai might be gone...therefore I know it was delish=) I got the recipe from a friend's sister but I saw that Lindsay from the Aisle to Aloha made some last week and posted the recipe on her blog. Here is my outfit while I'm cooking the yummy pad thai from yesterday. :) Necklace and Cardigan { new york company } Dress { gift } Have a great Tuesday! This week is going to be a short week for me since my youngest sister is visiting from South Dakota and I'm taking couple days off from work.

What's for Dinner} Zesty Asian Wings

Image
Before we had Kaylee, Hubby and I would always go to Buffalo Wild Wings on Tuesday for their wings special. I normally get their Asian Zing (nom nom nom) Hubby likes the mango habanero. Since I have been craving for some wings lately, I thought why not make some with my own spin on it. I am no chef but gotta say..these wings were pretty darn good! I baked the wings for 30 min and deep fried them for about 10 min. As for the sauce, I chopped up some garlic, and chili..added honey, fish sauce, vinegar and sauteed it for few min and combined the wings and sauce together. Pretty simple and sweet! These were so good with rice, I eat EVERYTHING with rice..typical asian of me :D

Korean bbq!

Image
I love LOVE Korean food. I would love to travel to Korea some day just to pig out and eat all the yummy food there. Baby girl has been craving for korean bbq this week so I thought why not try to make some. It was super easy and hubby thought that it was pretty good too! You can get the sauce at any asian grocery and season it for 30 min with some beef ribs. I think it's better if it's grilled but I cooked over the stove. Turned out pretty good and tasty. Ooh and here is a baby bump picture :D Hubby and I are getting ready this week for the arrival of our baby girl. Im packing for the hospital right now and working half days all this week. I have a feeling she may come end of this week or early next week. I am super duper nervous, scared, and of course excited too. If you dont hear from me for awhile, you'll know where I'll be :0) { I love my new scarf ! }

Being 18 weeks pregnant I am constantly hungry. I eat about 5 times a day! ^_^ but I have to watch what I eat which is really difficult for me. Last night I made some shrimp and scallop vegetable delight with white sauce. It was my first time making it and it turned out pretty yummy. I also made sweet and spicy pork. My cheat sheet :D As for desert, my all time favorite exotic fruit Chom-Chom (Rambutan) I can seriously eat this all day..wish it wasnt so expensive though! I should put the recipe up but I am seriously not good at writing it. When I cook, I don't really measure either and just put whatever that is available at the time. :D

30 min meal

Image
Last week, all I had in the fridge was cabbage and shrimp so I made a really quick meal. With preparing and cooking, it took me about 30 minutes to cook. My husband took Yoshi (the dog) out for a walk and I told him that food would be on a table by the time his walk is over, and here it is. Buttery Shrimp and cabbage. Hope everyone had a great weekend !

What's for dinner?

Image
I have been little sick lately so I haven't been a great wife..meaning tons of laundry and going out to eat. I did about 4 loads the other day..but luckily my dog was kind enough to help :) I looked back and saw Miko made himself at home on top of laundry. Gotta grab the camera too! Last night my brother-in-law and his kids came into town so I made some soup and pork for dinner. I was going to take a picture of the soup but then forgot. Oops! I don't really like to cook for myself, but I enjoy cooking for others. It's a great feeling to know that they are satisfied with full tummy =) I always wonder how often do people cook at home? I try to cook at least 4 times a week, and what do you usually cook? I don't know how to bake and I normally just cook Vietnamese Cuisine

10 min meal

It has been a busy week for me so I am definitely glad that it is Friday. Going to lay out at the beach and hang out with all 4 of my little monsters. This morning, I was running late for work but I actually made really yummy lunch. It seriously only took me 10 minutes to make it and well 10 min to take the pix and upload it too:) Doesnt it look delish. My secret? Bertolli Chicken Florentine and Farlalle. I got it from Sams club, but I think they have it at Walmart also. If you haven't try this, you should, it's so good! Hope you guys have a great weekend..and here is a new pictures of my lil monsters.

Spring Rolls

Image
Few weeks ago my husband and I went to North Carolina to visit his mom for Mother's Day. We made goi cuon (spring rolls)and it was so good that when we came back home, I wanted to see if I can make it by myself with homemade peanut hoisin sauce. Somehow I forgot to take a picture of the sauce. The spring rolls were De-lish! Speaking of food, I have been craving for vietnamese dessert Tropical Fruit Che` Thai so I made some yesterday. I think I love food just a little bit too much.. { image by me }

The Shaking Beef...

Image
I made Thit Bo Luc Lac meaning "Shaking Beef" for dinner tonight and just had to take a picture of it. It's called the shaking beef because you have to shake the skillet or wok to cook the beef or else the meat will be burnt and dry.

Banh Xeo

Image
Over the weekend, we had a little gathering and made Banh Xeo ("bahn SAY-oh") The name means "sound crepe," and it indicates the sound the batter makes when it hits the hot skillet. Banh Xeo Recipe Vietnamese Crepe makes 2 crepes Crepes 1 cup rice flour (Thai versions are fairly easy to find) 1 cup coconut soda 1/2 teaspoon turmeric pinch of salt pinch of sugar vegetable oil for frying Filling 4 ounces small shrimp 4 ounces sliced roast pork 4 scallions, sliced 2 cups bean sprouts Wrap leafy lettuce leaves fresh herbs such as mint, Thai or Vietnamese basil (optional) and cilantro dipping sauce (see below) In a bowl mix the rice flour, coconut soda, turmeric and salt. Heat a little oil in a 10 inch non-stick pan and cook the pork and shrimp. When cooked through, add the scallions. Add a little more oil, you may need a tablespoon or two to make the crepe very crisp and chewy. Pour in 1/2 cup batter on top of the fillings a
